Contextual Clue
The word is Multitasking. The clues that i saw was ". . it must share its attention in small portions among all the active tasks." This lets me know that multitasking involves doing many things at once.

What is Nanotube technology?
Carbon Nanotubes are allotropes of carbon that can be used in applications such as nanotechnology, electronics, optics, and in other fields of material science.
What does it look like?
Carbon Nanotubes are hair-sized tubes made of rolled-up carbon hexagons
What might it mean for future technology?
Nanotechnologycan be used by companies to boost the performance of future microprocessors and computer memory. Technology will be shrunk to even smaller sizes than before to sizes almost a fraction of the width of a human hair.
